HE IS - I AM : LIVING OUT OF MY IDENTITY IN CHRIST!
He is Holy — I belong exclusively to Him!
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9

never separates me from people
“Holiness never separates me from people. On the contrary, I am drawn to them, to live and breathe among them, until they are overcome with God’s Holy presence, and are consequently transformed by His Holy Spirit.”p 37 HE IS—I AM
Bible Story: Genesis 45:1-15 Joseph reveals his true identity… to his brothers…
Take some time to let Holy Spirit speak to you as you read: Colossians 3:12-4:6.
Reflection:
I love the quote from Laurie above. So often Holiness is interpreted as a call to be separate from people. But Jesus reveals the exact opposite. “On the contrary” as Laurie says.
Bill Johnson put it this way; In the old testament you touch a leper and you become unclean. In the new testament, you touch a leper and the leper becomes clean. Being Holy impels us towards others.
Remember our theme verse, 1 Peter 2:9, read it above. The point of being chosen in Christ, of being set apart, made “HOLY” is so that “you can show others the goodness of God”!!!!
Remember too, the fact He chose you, that’s what “shows others the goodness of God!” COME ON!!! “For he called you out of darkness into His wonderful light”!!!!
This is an incredible cultural transformation. It impacts our behaviours, our reactions, and our responses to the world around us. Why? Because in Christ we have become established in another world, His World. That’s right Heaven is our home! That fact alone makes our house become one of praise!
When Heaven becomes our “home”, the “house” we are now being raised in will make our life on earth look different. Just as Joseph in the Bible is able to work through his stuff, he eventually chooses to reveal his true identity. And in doing so, reveals who God is too!
That’s our joy too. God wants us to reveal our true identity. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. This truth alone declares that “as a result, “we” can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1Peter2:9).
The apostle Paul puts it this way:
14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
YES AND AMEN!!!
